They think I'm a doll they can dress up and Twist into prostration. I've been tempted with friendship only to be left betrayed and trapped in this nightmare. I've been prodded tested and thrown in a cell. I've been neglected abandoned ostracized and dragged from my home. I wanted her to learn more about her unique ability, for her to be capable of fighting back, and to find that amazing love she was searching for. I could not help but lovEthis heroine, her strength and resilience. She is taking everything bad that has happened to her and turning them into tools of strength. Juliette is a fighter, a heroine who has traveled to hell and is slowly climbing her way out.

Locked away and shunned by others, she desperately longs for love, and the comforting touch she's always been deprived of. It's about a 17-year-old girl named Juliette who believes she is cursed and no better than a monster due to her ability to harm others with just the power of her touch. Shatter Me is a romance at heart, with some Dystopian and supernatural elements. Her determination to fight back and reclaim her identity. I was immediately drawn to Juliet's voice, I felt her despair and hope, her fear and strength. There's something very compelling and unique about the way author Tahereh Mafi writes, using a strikeout method, that really brings life to her characters, a deeper meaning to them. Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. My Rating: 5 Stars Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
